5 Days Uganda Gorilla trek and Queen Elizabeth safari expedition
Early in the morning, be off for Queen Elizabeth national Park, the park that enhance the highest biodiversity rating of any game park in the world with its, dense swamps, beautiful crater lakes, open savannah and rain forest. The park beauty is the rare wildlife and other animals like almost 100 species of mammals including the elephants, buffaloes, lion, leopards, giant forest hog, and hippos, among others. The park has also got an outstanding 606 bird species including; black-rumped buttonquail, Verreaux’s eagle owl, African skimmer, martial eagle. Primates found in Queen Elizabeth National Park includes; the chimps, red tailed monkeys, black and white colobus, red colobus. Overnight at Mweya Safari Lodge/Simba safari Camp.
Day 2: Chimpanzee Tracking and Launch Cruise
Past breakfast, depart for the 8:00am Chimpanzee Tracking in the Kyambura gorge to watch the wonderful apes that are more closely related to humans than any other animals, after this beautiful activity, return to the Lodge for Lunch and relaxation. After lunch, take the 2 hours Launch cruise on the Kazinga channel that connects Lakes Edward and George, one of the most exciting activities in Uganda with a chance to see a huge population of Hippos and Crocodiles in water while elephants and buffaloes grazing on the banks of the channel as well as an array of birdlife including; the kingfishers, Egyptian fish eagle, saddle billed stork, among others Dinner and overnight at Mweya Safari Lodge/Simba safari camp.
Day 3: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
Following breakfast, drive out of the park to Bwindi Impenetrable National park through the Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park, the area fames for its tree climbing lions. Proceed to Bwindi Gorilla Park, the park that hosts over half of the world’s remaining population of the Mountain Gorillas. Explore the village and the native communities if time permites.Dinner and overnight at Gorilla forest camp/Gorilla resort/Buhoma community bandas.
Day 4: Gorilla expedition.
Report to the ranger station at 8:00 am after breakfast for briefing before entering the gorilla sanctuary with the ranger guides for the most interesting activity in the world, Gorilla Tracking. The tracking activity takes between 30 minutes to 8 hours thus, a steady pair of walking shoes is recommended as well as a reasonable degree of fitness. Sit in the dense rain forest for an hour hearing these delightful mountain gorillas grumble at each other. Return to the Lodge and if you have the afternoon free, take a guided nature walk in the Forest or to the nearby community. Overnight at Gorilla Forest Camp/Gorilla Resort/Buhoma Community Bandas.
Day 5: Bwindi Forest – Kampala.
After breakfast set off for Kampala. Have en route lunch at Mbarara and then continue for Kampala passing via the Equator arriving late evening.
