5 Gorillas and chimps safari Uganda
Day 1: Transfer to Kibale National Park with Chimpanzee tracking in the afternoon.
You will be picked up from your hotel by your safari guide and be driven to Kibale National Park passing though verdant countryside and traditional homesteads and farms with lunch en-route in Fort Portal (Mountains of the Moon).In the afternoon, you will drive to Kibale forest for chimpanzee tracking and other primates including phoestes, Red-Colobus, Blues, Red-tailed and grey cheeked Mangabey swinging through the dense forest and birds, butterflies and many small insects.
The guide will provide detailed explanations on not only primates, but also on all the forest’s fauna and flora, ensuring that your walk is both informative and enjoyable. This walk is excellent for viewing bird life and primates in close quarters. Dinner and Overnight at Primate Lodge/Chimps nest.
Day 2: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.
Following breakfast leave for Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park via the southern sector of Queen Elizabeth called Ishasha famously known for tree climbing lion. On the way try to find the famed Ishasha tree-climbing lions before continuing on to Bwindi, home to the few remaining mountain gorillas, Bird life, primate life and an incredible variety of flora . Day 3: Gorilla tracking Expedition and optional Community walk.
Past breakfast report to the ranger station for registration and briefing by one of the ranger guides. Enter the gorilla sanctuary for tracking, pushing your way through the undergrowth and parting thick creepers. The time taken and the terrain vary with the movement of these great giants. If you have the afternoon free, you may decide to take a guided walk on the Munyanga River trail, which is an ideal short walk or take a guided village walk to see the true life style of Ugandans. Dinner and overnight at Gorilla forest camp/Gorilla Resort / Buhoma community Bandas. (FB)
Day 4: Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park with an evening game drive.
Depart for Lake Mburo National Park with lunch at Agip Motel in Mbarara .There after, continue to the Park which is an extension of the Tanzanian plains with big herds of zebra, impala, eland and other ungulates. Bird viewing opportunities are excellent for birders; this is one of the best places to find African fin foot, papyrus bush shrike and many others. Checking in at your lodge and then, go for an evening game drive in the rolling hills and open grasslands an activity which will expose you to variety of wildlife like the Impala, Waterbuck, Eland, Zebra, Buffalo, Klipspringers, Crested Crane, and the Shoebill Stork inclusive. Dinner and overnight at Luxury Mantana Tented camp/Basic Rwonyo Rest Camp (FB)
Day 5: Guided Nature walk and transfer back to Kampala
Following breakfast depart for a guided nature walk to the forest to see the rare Zebra species in Uganda plus other wildlife like the Impala, African Eland, and Africa’s largest antelopes mention but a few. There after, leave for Kampala stopping at the Equator for a photographic opportunity as well as an informative talk arriving in the afternoon.
