9 Days Safari Tour Uganda with gorilla trekking

Day 1: Transfer to Murchision falls National Park famous for over 76 mammals.

Your driver/guide will pick you from your hotel (meet and greet), then start your drive to Murchison Falls National Park with a stop over for lunch at Masindi.Later, continue to the park with variety of attractions like mammal species and bird species variety of water birds including the world’s most accessible wild population of the rare shoebill stork. .However, the place is also blessed with cool environmental conditions which are conducive for both tourists and the natural diversity.  The elevation of the park is 619 m at the delta and 1,292 m at Rabongo .The mean temperature is 29 ºC-high and 21 ºC-low.

On arrival at Paraa, drive to the “Top of the fall” for a breathtaking sight of the raging Nile as it forces its way through a rocky gap just about six meters wide. Transfer to Red Chilli Camp for dinner and over night stay or alternatively you can take a ferry to the northern bank of the River Nile and stay at Paraa Safari lodge.

Day 2: Morning game drive and afternoon Launch cruise.

Begin the day with an early morning game drive an activity that will bring close most of the unique animals in the African Savannah to humans like giraffe, antelope, lion, elephant, and the Uganda kobs. The bird life is also impressive, with the eagle being one of the prized sightings and the rare shoebill.At some stage in the game drive, request your guide to show you the Congo Blue Mountains, in the clear morning and also if you are a bird lover, reach to the Kob mating grounds of the park. Once every one is done with lunch, leave for a launch cruise on the Nile to the hippo and crocodile recreation point. The cruise takes you to the Bottom of the thundering falls where you will see huge crocodiles, schools of hippos, buffaloes, elephants and a variety of water birds like herons, cormorants, ducks, bee-eaters, kingfishers, skimmers, fish eagles and sometimes the rare shoebill.

Day 3: Transfer to Kibale national park plus a visit to Royal palace of Toro

After early breakfast, drive to Fort portal with lunch enroute through traditional homesteads and farms and this will enable you enjoy the beautiful scenery across that part of the country. Dinner and overnight at Primate Lodge/ Mountains of the Moon Hotel.

Day 4: Morning Chimpanzee tracking and a visit to the Crater Lake.

Leave for early morning chimpanzee viewing in Kibale National Park an activity that creates drama in the rain forest. Therefore never miss to be part of the drama because you would have lost fun for life with your close cousins.Before a leisure delicious lunch, go for more fun in the forest (nature walk) to view the butterflies and other insects. Visit the tropical swamps and their vegetation. Have a chance of seeing some water birds and also enjoy the cool winds of the forest flora and fauna.However, later go for an evening tour to the crater region which is referred to as the top of the world zone, the natural bridge and a view of the snow cap on the Rwenzori on a clear day. Dinner and over night stay at Primate Lodge/ Mountains of the Moon Hotel.

Day 5: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National park.

Visit the Semliki National Park. This park has fantastic scenery, hot springs, forest jungle walk, birding, primates viewing and River Semliki meanders. At “Mungu Ni Mukubwa’’while in the mountains, the road offers scenic views of the meandering river, fuming hot springs and tropical rain forest.Visit the Bambuti (pygmy) community. Have a picnic lunch at the Sempaya hot springs and then drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park viewing the mystical Rwenzori Mountain range for much of the journey. Dinner and overnight stay at Mweya Safari

Day 6: Morning game drive and afternoon launch cruise.

Start the day with a game drive to the mating ground of the Uganda kobs along the Kasenyi Miles Track. During the activity, search for lions, buffaloes, elephants, and other wild animals in their natural habitat before returning for lunch.Past lunch, go for launch cruise along the Kazinga Channel, a natural water way between Lake Edward and Lake George and also get a chance to give thanks to the elephants, buffaloes drinking water along the shores and hundreds of hippos which make kazinga channel a gorgeous place to look at with ever lasting beauty. Retire for dinner and overnight at Mweya Safari Lodge/Jacana Safari Lodge.

Day 7: Chimpanzee tracking and Transfer to Bwindi National park .

Following a very early morning breakfast, set off for Chimpanzee tracking in Kyambura Wildlife Reserve. Driving through a grassland area, suddenly, we come across an astonishing gorge of a hundred meters deep, sheltered with tropical rainforest. You will hike into the gorge of the Kyambura River and seek for the wild chimpanzees. Depart from Queen Elizabeth National Park and drive via Ishasha sector towards Bwindi. The panoramic route runs through a lush countryside while you pass traditional homesteads and farms. You will arrive at Bwindi in the evening for dinner and overnight at Buhoma Community Bandas or Gorilla resort Camp.

Day 8: Gorilla trekking Bwindi National Park.

Following breakfast, we go gorilla tracking the main theme and highlight of the safari The ranger guide always briefs you on how to behave with these giant apes .Expect to trek for either long or short hours depending on where the Gorillas built there nest last night.The time taken to track these giant apes is unpredictable however it can be between 2-8 hours. You will love the tracking in this beautiful eco system and an encounter of these gentle giants of Bwindi with the silver backs is too exciting especially during hiking in the beautiful ecosystem of the park. Observe them closely while they play, eat, and rest for just an hour due to conservation purposes. Dinner and overnight at Gorilla resort camp/Buhoma community bandas.

Day 9: Transfer back to Kampala.

Return back to Kampala with for an overnight stay at your lodge or to catch up with your late evening flight back home. This marks the end of your safari trip.
