7 Days Uganda Gorillas and Rwanda.
Day 1: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park with an afternoon boat trip
Take breakfast and transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park through the city before a brief stop by the Uganda Equator to take pictures or shop souvenirs. After lunch in Mbarara, the safari heads into the East African Rift valley before arriving in Queen Elizabeth National park. In the afternoon enjoy a boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel between Lakes Edward and George. Apart from a healthy population of savanna wildlife, the Channel acts as a natural magnet for water birds. Dinner and overnight at Mweya Safari Lodge /Simba safari camp (FB)
Day 2: Morning game drive and Chimpanzee tracking
Wake up for a morning game drive in search of early risers and predators such as lions, jackals, hyenas and leopards before breakfast at the loddge.There after, transfer to Kyambura Game Reserve for chimp trekking. You may also enjoy a forest walk in Maramagambo forest. Dinner and overnight at Mweya Safari Lodge/Simba safari camp (FB)
Day3:Transfer to Bwindi via Ishasha for tree-climbing lions
After a morning cup of coffee proceed along Kasenyi track and Queens mile for a rewarding game drive anticipating to see leopards, Lions, Elephants, Warthogs, cape buffalo, hyena, waterbucks mangoose, Kobs, and lots of many small animals and birds. Later drive to Bwindi through Maramagambo and Ishasha sector anticipating to see tree-climbing lions. Arrive in the evening at Bwindi for dinner and overnight at Gorilla forest camp/Gorilla resort/Buhoma community Banda.
Day 4: Gorilla Tracking in Bwindi
Past breakfast at your lodge, attend briefing by park ranger guides, start the 30 minutes to 8 hours trek to find the Mountain gorillas in Bwindi. The tracking starts at the area where the gorillas were the previous day. Encountering the mountain gorillas in their natural environment is the highlight of a trip to Africa. After a full hour with the gorillas, return to your lodge for dinner and overnight at or if time permits, visit the nearby local community and learn more about the lifestyle of Ugandans.
Day 5: Transfer to Rwanda via ‘the Switzerland of Africa’
Following breakfast transfer to Rwanda traversing the impressive Kigezi highlands commonly known as the ‘ Switzerland of Africa‘ and cross the Uganda – Rwanda border to Ruhengeri. In the evening visit the twin lakes of Burera and Ruhondo for a boat drive and interacting with the local community. Dinner and overnight at luxury Mountain Gorilla view lodge/ Gorilla Nest /Kinigi guest house.
Day 6: Gorilla tracking in Volcano national park
Spend part of the day tracking mountain gorillas in Volcano national park. In the afternoon cross back to Uganda and stay at Lake Bunyonyi. Or alternatively drive to Kigali. Dinner and Overnight at Golf Hills Residence/Chezlando Hotel.
Day 7: City tour in Kigali and departure.
Following breakfast, you will have a city tour. Visit the city and curio markets, and then have lunch. In the afternoon, you will transfer to the airport and catch your flight back home.
